Scotland (Sep 2024)

Magic ✨

Best believe when Michael takes the dog out first thing, you will be met with the following photo:

But I totally get why he took the photo (minus the dogs dignity). There’s not many places where you can wake up, take the dog out and be met with views like that.

Scotland is magic.

A magical drive

The 40 minute drive we had this morning had both our mouths to the floor the entire time – got a happier reason today! We could have stopped time and time again to take in the beauty the forest and lochs were offering in the morning sun. And whilst we weren’t in a rush to get to the campsite, we know that Scotland will keep showing us its beauty.

The picture simply doesn’t do it justice, albeit the clear blue sky sums up the weather today.

A slow day in Stranraer

Today/tonight we are staying in Aird Donald Caravan park in Stranraer, as it was only a short drive, we parked up, did some of those fun chores (toilet, water, waste) and headed for a stroll into town.

Stranraer had just held its annual oyster festival (yes, that’s a thing) so the town was calming after the storm of the weekend. And whilst the town was quiet, we happily enjoyed the views it offered, bumped into a swan family with cygnets, watched birds fishing in the harbour and took a slow amble round.

It was only a 5km walk in the end, but we were in no rush, there were no deadlines to get back to the van for, there was time to just soak it all in.

A new pal and an £8 bargain

Back at the van, we clocked this chap sat on our tyre:

Please, whoever you are, keep looking over us!

I brushed the dog and cleaned the van up a bit, a dog and a Michael for 4 days and it gets messy, whilst Michael, well Michael had been on TikTok shop…

Best £8 he’s ever spent! And no, the outtakes of me trying to stand up have not made the blog!

We then sat, in the beautiful sunshine, relaxing, playing cards and just enjoying the downtime. All in all, a pretty wholesome day.

We showered, had an early dinner, said good night to our new pal and the headed inside to avoid the mozzies and continue relaxing, ready for possibly the best day of my life tomorrow.
