September 2024 · 10 diary entries
Ten days on the road in Monty, with Bentley along for the ride. From a catch-up in Warton to Highland cows, forest park-ups and the Cairngorms, this was a trip full of sunshine, long walks and a few roads that kept us on our toes.

Our journey
Warton → Clatteringshaws → Stranraer → Catrine → Aviemore → Braemar → Falkirk → home.
The moments we remember
- Warton Crag and a meal at the Old School Brewery before crossing the border.
- A loch-side stop at Clatteringshaws, followed by Stranraer and the Hands on Coo Tour at Kitchen Coos & Ewes.
- Whitelee Wind Farm, lunch at The Heron and an overnight beside Loch an Eilein.
- A 21.5 km walk from Aviemore to Glenmore and back, then the Balmoral cairns and Braemar.
The final post records 1,224 miles in total, including 466 miles on the last day. The Falkirk Wheel was a stop, but the planned overnight there became the drive home.
