Having packed everything, including a new kitchen sink installed in the van, we hit the road!

A glamorous first night
It’s nothing too exciting today I’m afraid folks, Michael has to go to site in Sheffield and I am being treated to a night in a Holiday Inn Express.
How the other half live eh 🙄
Friday the 13th strikes
However Friday the 13th was going to live up to its name today, the M1 was identifying as a car park at various sections, 50mph average speed is as boring as it sounds, then when we came off the motorway to visit an outlet store we love, we we were treated to hills that made the van sound like a steam train and single track (squeaky bum time) country roads and an extra few scratches on the paintwork.

All in all, a pretty terrible drive.
The M1 provided little in entertainment, as did the 5 hour wait for Michael on the side of a road in an industrial estate somewhere in Rotherham, whilst he went onsite.

Why didn’t Zoe just drive?
I know what you’re all thinking, Zoe why didn’t you just drive the van to the hotel, get checked in and settled. It’s a great question and the genuine answer is because I am terrified of driving the van.
Terrified.
I would rather sit in an industrial site for hours on end than drive the 10 minutes to the hotel. Ever since the van broke down in Cornwall when I was driving, I’ve not been able to drive it since! Plus the waiting wasn’t all bad, I’m bossing my fifa career on the switch 😂
And then the hotel…
It’s fine though as we were staying in a hotel tonight, little bit of Holiday Inn luxury, if there is such a thing! We saw the Golden Arches and headed to Donald’s for our dinner before hitting the sack. What else could go wrong…
Oh I’ll answer that right now shall I? Turns out the most pampered pooch to ever grace this planet, doesn’t like hotel rooms. After an hour and a half of barking at every noise Michael gave up and took Bentley to sleep in the van in the car park – he settled down instantly 🙄
What a day!
