The First Caravanning Adventure

Beach boys

No no, not the band, I am referring to the boys in this household!

You turn around to Bentley and say, ‘You wanna go to the beach,’ and he is gone. It’s like he knows where the beach is and starts dragging you there!

A very Michael morning

So we had our usual slow morning with a coffee and a new breakfast today being toasted waffles with chocolate chips and honey 😋

Michael had woken up in a very Michael mood and wanted to take the glued down chopping board off the side and move the TV and speakers into a different position – I smiled and nodded (what’s the point in disagreeing, he would only do it in a few days time!)

The TV is definitely in a better place, and we quickly found out why the countertop had a chopping board glued onto it! We found a small crater where something had probably fallen out of a cupboard for the previous owner!

Something to see if we can fix when we get home.

Beach time

We then decided we wouldn’t let the dog wait anymore; it was time to go to the beach!

We went via Haven’s small enclosed dog field, which had a few obstacles to let the pooch burn off some excitement, which he absolutely did. We then continued our short walk to the beach!

It’s really nice that places are thinking of dogs more and more, just somewhere for the dogs to run and play really helps them burn off some energy!

We then got to Bentley’s favourite place in the world, and the Zoomies commenced; he was off!

The tide was quite a way out this morning, it felt like it added an extra kilometre to our walk, but when we got there Bentley was not coming out of the sea!

He turns into a seal! He would swim all day if he could!

After about half an hour of throwing the ball into the sea for our new pet seal to fetch, we saw that he was starting to shiver (The North Sea is not renowned for being warm!) so we thought we would get him back to the van to clean him up and dry him off.

This resulted in a Mexican standoff, with Bentley refusing to come out of the sea – it’s like arguing with a toddler who barks instead of cries!

So we got a cute video of us all and then headed back to the van.

An afternoon of absolutely nothing

We hosed Bentley down, getting rid of all the sand and seawater, sprayed him to make him smell good, and he dried himself in the sunshine!

We then did absolutely nothing for the majority of the afternoon!

Michael made lunch, which we enjoyed outside in the sunshine. We played some cards, then wandered down to the arcades for me to be a child!

The sun had absolutely worn us out so we headed back to enjoy a well deserved beer and a reasonable bedtime!

Fingers crossed this weather hangs around 🤞🏼
